I’m going to take FULL and TOTAL credit for this partnership of i Am Other and Awkward Black Girl. My very last tumblr post was a direct criticism of Pharrell’s (i Am Other) lack of Black women in his movement. Or, at least, in the trailer for his movement.

I took to Twitter and Tumblr to let him, Mimi Valdes and the world know how slighted, hurt and ignored I felt as Black woman who loves, honors and supports anything Pharrell does.

Well, I’d like to think that Pharrell got the message loud and clear. This is just a start, Pharrell. Just a start. I’m not letting you off the hook; I look forward to more art, more collaborations, more projects, more movements that not only encourage but include, support, influence and honor Black women. Your women.

Now, let’s talk about my 15% cut for helping to broker this deal, in my own electronic way LOL!
